Early life

Monica's biological parents died when she was young due to unknown deaths. She was then adopted by a kind couple and since then, she has been an orphan. When her foster father died, her foster mother became sick and soon became very weak. To finance her medicines, Monica sang in weddings, birthday parties and even wakes to earn money for her foster parents. Monica gained popularity by joining the Philippine singing competition hosted by Sharon Cuneta
