Monclova Christian Academy was founded in 1999 by Russell Merrin, pastor of Monlcova Road Baptist Church. Throughout that first year, only 50 students were enrolled. The First graduate of Monclova Christian Academy was Brian Keel. He graduated alone. Since then, the school has grown to nearly 200 student

Though the school is young, it has participated competitively in athletics with other private schools, and small public schools. Monclova Christian Academy's athletics include: basketball (at the jr. high and high school level), volleyball, Track, jr. high and Varsity soccer, and baseball. A cheerleading teem was added for the 2008-2009 basketball season.

In 2008, a Pre-School class was added to the school. This was a result of an expansion on the main church building.
