Following his retirement from active politics Nasim became an advisor to WTP Capital LLC.

 reports that Nasim, and four other former politicians, from the Awami League,were beaten by Bangladeshi Police officers.
Nasim was reported to have been beaten on September 12, 2006.
The Bangladesh Awami League reports that Nasim's beating was captured on videotape.
According to Amnesty International:
"Nasim was beaten with rifle butts and iron rods. He was hit on the arm, head and back, and went into a coma. Doctors have declared his condition as critical."
