Mitsubishi Galant
The first generation of the car, initially known as the Colt Galant, was released in December 1969. The design was dubbed "Dynawedge" by Mitsubishi, referring to the influence of aerodynamics on the silhouette. Three models were available, powered by the new 'Saturn' engine in 1.3 or 1.5 L ...


  • 1978–1984 — This rear-wheel drive hardtop coupé was based on the third generation Galant. In Japan it was sold as the "Galant/Eterna Lambda", while European and South American export markets received it with the "Sapporo" label. It received a thorough facelift in 1980. This car was also sold as the "Plymouth Sapporo" in North America and as the "Colt Sapporo" in the United Kingdom.
  • 1987–1990 — In the European market, the Hardtop sedan version of the front-wheel drive fifth generation Galant was sold as the Sapporo. This car was called the Sigma in North America.
