called up Trout on July 8, 2011, to replace the injured Peter Bourjos
in center field. He made his major league debut that night, going 0–3 with 2 flyouts and a groundout.

After spending time back in Double-A Arkansas, Trout was recalled back to play with the Angels on August 19, 2011. He went one for four that night, hitting a home run, the first for him at Angel Stadium.
