 in 1984. After a brief stint on the weekday afternoon show, he moved to a midnight slot, where he broadcast for 14 years. Most well known for a show called Moloney After Midnight, which ran for most of the 1990s. Moloney After Midnight had live guests on every night. They could be actors, writers or anyone, famous or obscure that Mike and his producer Maggie Stapleton thought would be interesting or entertaining. The show became most well known for the many and varied live music sessions that were broadcast.

After leaving RTÉ 2FM at Easter 2000, he joined the newly licenced easy listening station Lite FM (now Q102

) in Dublin where he presented the Drivetime slot daily. He was let go from Lite FM in 2004 causing a very public rift between himself and the station's C.E.O. Scott Williams.

From Lite FM he did a short stint at Dublin's Country 106.8 where he again held the Drivetime slot in the schedule. He moved on from Dublin's Country 106.8 for the launch of the north-west's new local station Ocean FM

Summer 2010 Mike was invited, and agreed, to come out of retirement by new, Dublin based, station Radio Nova 100 (launch September 1st 2010)to present a Classic Rock / Sports show every Saturday and Sunday, 2-6 p.m.
