Shenton made his Castleford Tigers Debut on 1 May 2004 in a 28 v 42 defeat to Wigan Warriors

2006

2006 was another bad year for the Tigers but, it was a good year personal for Michael Shenton who showed a good account for himself and that he is Super League quality. Shenton got all the rugby league pundits talking about him after the Castleford Tigers 80th anniversary game (Sun 16 July Castleford 31 v Leeds 30).
But at the end of Season Castleford Tigers was relegated and there were a lot of Super League clubs* chasing Shenton. (* Wakefield Wildcats, Hull FC)

2007

In 2007 saw Shenton stay loyal with his local town club. It was a Great Season for the Tigers and Shenton. Shenton was a Member of the National League 1 Dream Team of The Year, and was a member of the squad that won NL 1 Champions trophy (finishing 1st in the league). and then he was a member of The National League 1 Grand Final that won Cas promotion back to The Super League. but they was a lot of super league clubs* still chasing Shenton. (*Bradford Bulls)

2008

In 2008 saw Shenton make his 100th appearances for the club and make he International debut against Wales as well. Also Michael Shenton was called in to 2008 Rugby League World Cup train on squad but missed out on going to Australia. At Tigers end of the season awards Shenton won the Back of The Year.

2009

2009 showed Shenton grow as a senior player of the squad. Also 09 brings Shenton more international Caps of England. Shenton played in the mid-season international against France. He is in the 20man squad to play against Wales RL in the end of season international. Shenton is in the Gillette 4 Nations 23 man squad for England.

At the Tigers end of Season awards Shenton won the Back of The Year again. He also won the Castleford Tigers Supporters Clubs Special Achievement Award.

2010 Last Season At Cas

2010 Shenton played in the mid-season international against France and scored his 1st England try. It was also Shenton last season with the Tigers. Michael Shenton Finished his Tigers career against his New Club St Helens RLFC, in there last league at Knowsley Road. Shenton was also the 2nd longest servicing Cas Player behind Tigers team mate Craig Huby
