D'Agostino was born in Langley, British Columbia and attended NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Division 1. In 2005 he was the Wildcats' leading scorer with three goals and eleven assists. During his youth and university years he played every position on the pitch except goalkeeper.

D'Agostino signed a one-year contract in September 2007 with Blackpool with an option for an additional year.
