Coburn returned to Ireland following his 4 year tenure with Memphis and re-joined Dundalk for their 2009 Premier Division campaign. In 2009 Coburn made 23 league and cup appearances for Dundalk and helped them to a 4th place league finish which secured qualification to the UEFA Europa League for the Lilywhites. Coburn parted ways with Dundalk at the end of the 2009 season and following a brief spell without a club he signed for First Division Shelbourne
