Meteorologische Zeitschrift is a scientific journal for meteorology and climatology.
Österreichische Gesellschaft für Meteorologie society established and founded Meteorologische Zeitschrift in 1886. The society held the publication jointly with Deutsche Meteorologische Gesellschaft. The meteorological society of Switzerland had a role in its publication.
In 1992, it merged with Meteorologische Rundschau and Zeitschrift für Meteorologie. In 2000, the journal began publishing Beiträge zur Physik der Atmosphäre (Contributions to Atmospheric Physics).
Although meteorological societies of mainly German-speaking countries publish Meteorologische Zeitschrift, most authors write articles in English, the language of international scientific cooperation.
