Merton Abbey railway station was a railway station in Merton
on the Tooting, Merton and Wimbledon Railway. It was opened in 1868, became part of the Southern Railway
(SR) in 1923. It closed to passengers on 3 March 1929 and to goods on 1 May 1972, although goods trains continued to run to a nearby private siding serving the Lines Brothers ("Tri-ang") toy factory until 1975.
