Megha Mittal is the Chairman and Managing Director of the German fashion luxury brand Escada
.
She graduated from the Wharton School of Business in 1997, with a B.S.
in Economics with concentration in Finance. She subsequently joined the investment bank Goldman Sachs
as an analyst in the research department. In 2003, she obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design at the Inchbald School of Design.
In November 2009, she acquired Escada, who had filed for bankruptcy in August that same year.
Mittal is married to Aditya Mittal
, CFO of ArcelorMittal, whom she met while at the business school in the U.S. They live in London and have two young daughters.
In 2008, the Mittals made a donation of £15 million to Great Ormond Street Hospital
in London, the largest private contribution the hospital had ever received. The donation was used to help fund their new facility, the Mittal Children's Medical Centre.
