The Medal of Recognition 1940-1945 (Dutch
: Erkentelijkheidsmedaille 1940-1945) is a royal medal of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
, which has been established by Royal Decree at 9 February 1946. The decoration exists in two classes, which of silver and bronze. It is awarded to those, who in the period of 1940 up to 1945 fought for the Dutch cause at occupied Netherlands, thinking of aid to the Dutch or Dutch institutions, or after the war helping the relieve of distress of persons who have suffered seriously from the occupation.
