He made his debut after several games on the bench, against top of the league QPR coming on as a 82nd minute substitute. Middlesbrough lost the match 3–0. He made his first full start in a 4–2 victory against Hull City on 23 April 2011. Following the end of the Championship season he was subsequently released by Middlesbrough FC.
