In October 1998, the Loblaws store closed and a new standalone Loblaws was opened on the northeast corner of Fanshawe Park Road and Richmond Street. The old store was demolished, and a Famous Players Silver City movie theatre was built in its place in 1999. This was around the same time the Eaton's

In 2011, a multimillion dollar renovation was undertaken which includes upgrades to entrances, ceilings, washrooms and the food court. The renovation will also include the removal of the clock tower and fountain to increase common area space. The renovation process will occur in phases with minimal disruptions to tenants and customers. New stores including a two floor Forever 21 will be added.
