This show was one of the first children's shows in the UK to reflect urban living. The programme showed Mary having adventures in a busy town, as opposed to in a wood, forest or other rural setting. The two featured animals were likely to be familiar to town dwellers, as opposed to the array of talking wildlife usually seen in children's television.

In each episode, the three of them would descend in the lift from their flat in the tower block. After their adventures they would return home, Midge would press the button for the lift back to the correct floor, by standing on Mungo's nose.

1. The Crane 7th October 1969 Mungo was helping Mary build her bricks, but they saw the crane outside in the building site. So Midge climbed into the crane and took Mungo up in the air.
2. The Letter 14th October 1969 Mary was sending her letter to thank her grandma for her birthday present, while Mungo and Midge posted the letter in the letterbox, Midge fell inside and was taken to a van, a train and a bicycle whilst looking after the letter.
3. The Boat 21st October 1969 Mary and her parents were sailing Mary's boat in the pond, with Midge on board.
4. Printing 28th October 1969 Mary and Mungo were painting, Mary was using potatoes for printing so Mungo and Midge went to buy some, but Midge was in the printing factory and was covered in black paint!
5. Clocks 4th November 1969 Mary and Mungo were playing "Hickory Dickory Dock" with Midge, but he broke the clock in the hall, so Mary's parents called some men to fix the clock with Midge as well!
6. Mungo Lost 11th November 1969 Mungo thought he could go and see Mary where she went to see her aunt who had just moved to a new house, but Mungo got really lost so he decided to ask a policeman to take him home while Midge was looking for him.
7. Machines 18th November 1969 Midge wonders where cows fit in the machine, but he causes chaos with all the milk coming out of the machine!
8. Toy Shop 25th November 1969 Mary's doll's arm was broken so she and Mungo went with Mary's mother to go and get it mended, but Midge climbed inside the doll.
9. Funfair 2nd December 1969 The fun fair is opening, so Mary, Mungo and Midge went to the funfair with Mary, her parents and Midge.
10. Flying 9th December 1969 Mary goes to fly her kite in the park, but Midge wants to fly too so he uses a balloon.
11. The Garage 16th December 1969 Midge is left behind at the garage while Mary, Mungo and Mary's parents go on a picnic, so Midge learns all about the garage.
12. Hospital 23 December 1969 Mary hurts her leg, so she is taken to the hospital along with Mungo and Midge. Midge goes inside to look for Mary.
13. Seaside 30th December 1969 Mary and her family, Mungo and Midge went to the seaside for the day. Midge wanted to play his flute so Mungo looked after it, while Midge went to sleep in the sun and had a dream.
