Early life
Her older brother, Joseph Patrick Kennedy, was five years old when Mary was born. She was born almost a month after her other older brother, Francis Benedict Kennedy, died. Francis died at the age of one on June 14, 1892. Her younger sister, Margareta Louise Kennedy, would be born six years after Mary. Mary was raised in East Boston with Joe.
