Martin Kean is a New Zealand bass guitarist. He played with The Chills
(replacing Terry Moore
), from November 1983 to June 1984, when Moore rejoined.
He formed Stereolab
in 1990 with Tim Gane
and Lætitia Sadier
. He played on Switched On
, Peng!
and Lo-Fi EP, before leaving in 1993.
In 1995, Kean played on Fat Thompson's self-titled album that was released on the Trinder Music label.
Kean was one of the founders of Dunedin entertainment guide F*INK. He currently works as a lecturer at Otago Polytechnic
