Mark gained cross-party praise when elected to the Scottish Parliament by continuing to serve as a Councillor without receiving his council salary to save the public purse.

Upon his election at the age of 25, Mark became not only the youngest MSP of the current Parliament, but the youngest in the history of the Parliament..

He sits on the Local Government and Regeneration Committee..
