Mark Gorksi lived and trained in San Diego prior to the 1984 Olympics. Mark raced at the San Diego Velodrome. Mark's parents live in San Diego as well. During this period Mark was a member of the 7/11 team. After 7/11 ended its sponsorship he was later sponsored by Fuji bicycles.
