Controversy

On June 5, 2010, Marietta married Leon Patitsas, British-born CEO of Atlas Maritime. Her wedding party, which took place aboard the Greek armored cruiser Georgios Averof, a famous war memorial, caused an uproar of criticism, especially when photos of the party surfaced in the local media showing celebrities dancing on the floors of the ship and Navy officials taking part in the celebration, particularly in contrast with the economy crisis of 2010.
