Maple Leaf International School is an original English medium school in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Since its birth in 1972, it has been one of the longest running and most successful English medium schools in Bangladesh. It offers students quality education from play group till A Level. It offers a wide selection of courses for O and A Level under British Curriculum (GCE).Mrs. Zeba Ali, who is the principal of the school, leads the community to preserve its excellence along with Mr. Ali Karam Reza, the Vice-Principal and Mr. Ali Mohiuddin Al Shams, Executive Administrator. The School is certified by both the Government of Bangladesh and the University of London.
The school’s main buildings are located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Mrs. Zeba Ali has her office in Road# 11/A, Dhanmondi, Dhaka and Mr. Ali Karam Reza has his office in Road# 14/A, Dhanmondi Dhaka. As time passed the principal of the school became more determined to strengthen the reputation of the school. For achieving such reputation she has hired experienced and distinguished teaching staff for the O and A level students. Maple Leaf was the first school in Bangladesh which received Edexcel’s official approval to conduct O and A level examination in its own campus starting from the year 2006. The school provides the students with the modern laboratories to support classroom lectures as well as multimedia facilities for use in the classes. It also has libraries and computer labs in every branches.
The students of Maple Leaf have done extremely well in their academics. They have also subsequently received admission and scholarship opportunities in various reputed universities abroad. Every year large number of students get Daily Star Awards based on their O and A Level results. Not only in academics but the Principal also believed in encouraging students to participate in extra-curricular activities because these activities help the students to bring out their hidden talent. Students have won awards in basketball, cricket, football and handball and some students have made it to the national teams. The school currently participates in the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s award, which a self-development program, that is equipping them with life skills to make a difference to themselves, their communities and the world. With the help of the teachers and students council the school is successfully running Debate Club, Drama Club, Photography Club, Green Club, Community Service Club and many more. The school even organizes an Annual Sports Day event every year and students are highly encouraged to take part in that.
The students of this school are not only active with academics and extra-curricular activities but Maple Leaf International School also celebrates Bengali New Year (Pohela boishakh) every year within the campus with the students as the performers of the program. The school is also engaged in doing social activities. Every year, they give the A Level students a very well appreciated farewell through a graduation ceremony held in the school’s own auditorium. All these reasons makes the students of Maple Leaf feel proud of institution they are in.
