Manod railway station

Manod railway station was a railway station in North Wales
. It opened as part of the narrow gauge Festiniog and Blaenau Railway
on 29 May 1868 and was named originally as Tyddyngwyn after a large house nearby. On 1 September 1882 the GWR standard gauge Bala Ffestiniog Line
reached Llan Ffestiniog
from the south. The following year the narrow gauge line was converted to standard gauge but narrow gauge trains continued to run until 5 September 1883 using a third rail. The standard gauge official opening was on 10 September 1883.
The narrow gauge stations had no platforms and it is not certain that the standard gauge Manod station was on exactly the same site as the F&BR Tyddyngwyn station.
Manod closed to passenger services on 2 January 1960 and freight services on 27 January 1961.
The station has been completely demolished.
