History
MTC was founded in 1980 by Robert L. Marquardt, when Morton Thiokol decided to divest some of its less profitable divisions. Marquardt, who worked for Morton, and his partners, borrowed $3.5 million to purchase the spin-off.2010 escape
On July 30, 2010, three convicted murderers escaped from the Kingman prison, which is operated by MTC. Deputy Mohave County attorney Victoria Stazio said that an accomplice threw a cutting tool over the perimeter fence, and the inmates used it to cut the fence.
