Maloof Money Cup believe this will help local skate shops everywhere and also plan on giving back to the community as much as they can. The inaugural event was held in Orange County, California

This event offers the biggest cash purse out of any other skateboarding competition or event so far where professional skaters can take home as much as $160,000 for winning an event,and a total purse of over $500,000. A million dollar bonus awarded to a participant that wins four consecutive tournaments. Many of the skateparks made for the event are collaborations between the event organization, the skaters and the host city governments with the intention that they will remain as permanent parks in those communities after the event.

Results

In 2008 for the pro street finals Paul Rodriguez took home first place at the first ever Maloof Money Cup. In the amateur section Dustin Blauvelt placed first, in the ladies section Lacey Baker took first. In 2009 first place went to Chris Cole in the street section and in the ladies section Leticia Bufoni took home the win. In 2010 in the California competition Chris Cole takes the win again in the pro street finals, amateur section goes to Ishod Wair and ladies section Leticia Bufoni. In the New York competition Chris Cole again wins the pro street finals and in the amateur section Felipe Gustavo takes home the win. In 2011 in the South America competition the pro/open street final win went to Ishod Wair and the amateur win went to Justus Kotze. In Washington DC the pro street final win went to Andrew Reynolds and the amateur win went to Ishod Wair. In the New York Greg Lutzka takes the pro street final win and Evan Smith takes the amateur win.

Maloof Skateboarding Assistance Foundation

The Maloof Skateboarding Assistance Foundation is a non profit organization that was also founded by founded by Joe and Gavin Maloof. It was inspired when Jake Brown a professional vert skaterboarder took a 50 foot fall in the 2007 X Games

 and came out unharmed. The goal of this foundation is to provide skaters who have gone through serious injuries, build skate parks so skaters have a place to safe and legal place to skate and supply the insurance for all people entered in the Maloof Cup. The first ever event was held in 2009 and was called Ante Up for Skateboarding. This was a poker tournament sponsored by Monster Energy

. Jake Brown won the first ever Ante Up for Skateboarding and donated all his winnings back to the program. The event was such a big success that they held it again in 2010.
