The Convention Centre in the west harbour area of Malmö closed on 31 March 2010 and a new building is under construction in Burlöv to be opened in 2011.
The old building was originally built as a manufacturing

, it was turned into a SAAB factory following the Swedish shipyard crisis of the late 1970s and 1980s. In the early 1990s MalmöMässan AB
, earlier based in Stadionområdet ("The stadium area", where Malmö Stadion

In 1992, the Isstadion played host to the Eurovision Song Contest
