a State of southern India.They are listed as part of Scheduled Tribes by the Govt of India considering the ethnicity.Majority of them turned their religious belief from serving their centuries old "Mala Daivangal" to Christianity ,especially to Church of South India commonly known as CSI,because of the sufferings from the exploitation of their illiteracy and cultural uniqueness by the so called "modern world" for centuries.
The centre of Malayarayan community is "Melukavu" ,a hill-located town to the east of Kottayam District of Kerala.It also houses the Cathedral Church of the East Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India.
