Origin of the geographical name

It is said that the name of Maidashi derives from a historical event at which the town people provided horses for participants at a festival in Hakozaki-gu. The name has been used since the end of Heian Period

Maidashi area comprises the educational districts as a whole.

As a area of parks, Fukuoka city is way up on the high level in Japan, especially Midashi area with low population density and educational facility and research establishment cover a much larger area.

But by the full-scale landfill, the scene became a bleak sight. Nowadays image of beautiful sea shore left only around the of Hakozaki shrine, but an extensive prospect of Hakata Bay

In the maidashi area there are twelve medical organizations, and per capita number of doctors, nurses, and beds is well above the national average.

As above stated, because of that fulfilling infrastructure for medical services, education, welfare, clothing, food and housing, well-maintained public and inhabited environment, and from the fact of growth of population of maidashi school area in recent years,it is contemplated that the many citizens of Hakata wants live in Maidashi.
