Mahindra Navistar Automotives Ltd, formerly called Mahindra International, is an Indian commercial vehicle
manufacturer formed in 2005 from a joint-venture between Navistar International
(49%) of the United States and Mahindra & Mahindra (51%).
Mahindra Navistar has started its full-fledged manufacturing activities for the entire spectrum of commercial vehicles ranging from 3.5 – 49 tons GVW/GCW. According to official sources, huge investments are being made in product development and in setting up of a Greenfield manufacturing facility at Chakan near Pune
, India. The products of MNAL are currently sold under the trademark of Cabking, Loadking and Tourister.

The MaxxForce 7.2 diesel engine, which claims to be the most modern engine in its class, will power Mahindra Navistar’s new range of M & HCV trucks and buses which will be introduced in the Indian market in the January 2010
MaxxForce 7.2 diesel engine is a 7.2 litre in-line six cylinder diesel engine
. It has a 4-valve per cylinder technology and features both a mechanical injection system with a Bosch Rotary pump, as well as a high-pressure 1800 bar common rail fuel injection system
. The MaxxForce 7.2 diesel engine to be produced in India is also fully compliant with BS III and BS IV
emissions standards.
Mahindra Navistar is expected to sell its first batch of trucks by March 2010. First, there will be just two variants of trucks available while five more will be offered by the end of 2010.
Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, M&M Limited said on the occasion, “The investment done for Mahindra Navistar trucks is Rs 1000 crore out of which Rs 350 crore was done for engine manufacturing while the remaining Rs 1300 crore was done on trucks(Needs correction. Wrong numbers). Work is in an advanced stage on the soon to be launched CNG variant. We have priced our product very aggressively and I think it is marginally higher than its competitors. Currently our installed capacity is 50,000 units for trucks.”

Launch at the 10th Auto Expo, 2010, New Delhi
Mahindra Navistar Automotive Limited unveiled 25-tonne and 31-tonne trucks on 4 January 2010 and 40-tonne and 49-tonne trucks on 6 January 2010 at the 10th Auto Expo, New Delhi. The trucks unveiled were MN25 Tipper, MN25, MN31, MN40 & MN49.Mahindra Navistar is expected to sell its first batch of trucks by March 2010. 100th Rollout
On 28 June 2010, the company announced that the production figure has crossed 100th mark. The MN 25's Bharat Stage (BS) -II model is priced at Rs 14.99 lakh ex-showroom price.
