Development

Macbuntu was first released as v1.0. It was a very basic package that added Mac OS X icons, cursors, backgrounds and themes. The software was gradually given more features. Features like Reboot service Mac OS X fonts, Login Screen settings, Global Menu (common Mac OS like Menu Bar), Compositing Manager settings, window animations (Compiz Extras) and a Mac OS like Dock were added in v1.1.

The next major update was v2.0 which added a host of Mac OS like features namely theme-packs for many third party software and browsers, Apple logo on login screen, and the most eye-catching feature, the Mac OS X like Genie Effect (Compiz customized animation library). The future updates majorly solved compatibility issues and fixed various bugs.
