The system uses Mainline Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) operating on Alternating Current (AC) drawn from over-head cables through the catenary system.

Memu-Mainline electric multiple unit. It is designed to cater for semi-urban and rural areas,where we have platforms unlike EMU-Electric multiple unit
it is designed for urban and semi-urban areas. MEMU also has on vestibules(are the passageways connecting two coaches) which are mising in EMU.
