This village is inhabited by the Luni tribe of Pashtuns. current population is about 2000 souls. The elders of the tribe, led by one Asad Khan Luni, migrated from near Moqor in afganistan in 1660s and settled in Sibi, in the rein of Mizri rulers of the Sibi Kachhi Plains. the tribe and the village is currently led by Mr. Abdul Aziz Luni, a senior retired beaurocrat, who is also the author of the Book Afghans of the Frontier Passes, Afghans of the Passess (volume II), and Brithsh Balochistan (Volume III of Afgans of the Passes).
