How Luella got its name

Luella High School is located right outside of the un-incorporated city of Luella. It sits right off of Hwy 155, which runs parallel with a set of railroad tracks. In the small towns beginnings there used to be two sisters, one named Lou and the other Ella, who rode a train to their train station. As the conductor got to know them he would remind them where there stop was by saying "Lou, Ella Here's your stop." The town became Luella, and the county adopted it for the schools name.
