Lucy Taylor (singer)

Lucy Katharine Taylor is a classically trained singer who attended both the Salisbury Cathedral Girls Choir, and the Winchester Cathedral Girls Choir, where she was head chorister in her final year (2009/10).
She is most famously known for being a finalist in BBC Radio 2's 'Young Chorister of the Year', where she placed 2nd out of over 500 applicants. In 2011 Taylor worked with Kele Okereke

Musical achievements

In 2010, Lucy gained grade 8 distinctions in both her piano and singing, as well as winning a place in the prestigious Rudolfus Choir after attending the Eton Choral Course in Trinity College, Cambridge in 2010.

Personal life

Lucy was born in Stockbridge, Hampshire, to Karin and Stephen Taylor. She still lives there, with her older sibling Jonathan (1990), who was in the Winchester Cathedral Boys Choir (and who was made Deputy Head Chorister in his final year). She showed interest in music from an early stage, learning the piano from the age of 6, and the harp from the age of 7. She also - for a short period of time - played the cello when she was 11.
