History

2003 was the end of an era for the iconic Hollywood Star Lanes, an institution that served Hollywood for 43 years and was home to the filming of “The Big Lebowski”. In March it was leveled to make way for a school. But just as the door to one icon closed, another opened.

In April of that year Lucky Strike Lanes debuted its first location in Hollywood. Wanting to pay homage to its predecessor, Lucky Strike purchased Lane #7 from Star Lanes and made it Lucky Strike Hollywood’s bar. It’s been good luck ever since. Eight years and 20 locations later Lucky Strike Lanes continues to roll its way across the country.

Founders

In 2003 veteran restaurant and entertainment entrepreneurs Steven and Gillian Foster and Kevin
Troy conceived the idea of Lucky Strike Lanes. Inspired by the notion of bringing people together in
a high energy, fashionable environment, they created Lucky Strike Lanes to be a paradigm breaking
entertainment venue featuring bowling as its primary social draw.

In designing Lucky Strike Lanes, the Fosters found inspiration in “Hollywood Star Lanes,” a legendary
bowling alley (the location for “The Big Lebowski”) that had served the Hollywood community
for forty-three years. With this facility being demolished to make way for a school, the Fosters
purchased its vintage fixtures including the iconic “Hollywood” sign and neon blue stars created by
the Coen Brothers for the movie. They also used lane seven as the bar in Hollywood. By marrying
elegant nostalgia and modern technology, the Foster’s and Troy gave birth to “America’s first bowling
lounge.” The combination of warm tones, leather sofas, original artwork, intimate bar, and private
party space makes this venue unique, dramatic, and inviting.

Enhancing the experience is the food. The exciting menu was created exclusively for Lucky Strike
Lanes by celebrated Corporate Executive chef, Bill Starbuck, Vice President of Hollywood caterers,
“Along Came Mary,” well known as the caterer of choice for such prestigious events as the Emmy’s,
the Grammy’s and many of Hollywood’s “A” level movie premiers. This innovative and premium
quality cuisine is a centerpiece for the hundreds of parties Lucky Strike Lanes hosts each year.
These events range from corporate parties, celebrity charity events, wrap parties, Bar Mitzvahs, to
birthday parties for all ages. Whether attending an event, having drinks and hors devours, dining
with a few friends, lunching with co-workers or entertaining clients, Lucky Strike Lanes’ menu
continues to surprise and delight millions of guests.

The first Lucky Strike Lanes debuted in the heart of Hollywood in May 2003, a befitting tribute to
its inspirational roots. Today there are twenty locations across the country including one location in
Toronto, Canada. A San Francisco location is poised to open in 2011.

Lucky Strike Lanes has proven to be a fabulous multi-daypart anchor for entertainment districts
and malls across the country. Its appeal to individuals of all ages, races, and belief systems
and its dedication to local charities have made it a vibrant cultural destination in each of its host
communities.

Lucky Strike Lanes’ passion for entertainment delivers an exceptional experience every time and
continues to raise its standards for excellence in all this it offers

s as possible with one shot. Each player begins with a default bowling ball, alley, and soundtrack.

Players can control the direction and speed of their shot by staying within the parameters of the direction and speed dials displayed on the screen's right hand corner. Hitting the green "sweet spot" yields a balanced shot, while hitting the red will cause a powerful, hard-to-control roll.

Solo or challenge game types are available across all networks. A challenge consists of up to 25 friends competing for the best score: The greater the challenge group, the higher the credit payout for the winner.

Store and achievements

The store contains different bowling balls, arenas, and sound snippets, allowing players to customize their game. Product designs range from basic (such as a classic, black ball) to pop cultural references and fantasy items.

Lucky Strike Lanes also provides both the opportunity for solo play and to issue challenges to friends. Challenges and final scores are located on the leaderboard.

Players are awarded virtual trophies for excellence in play as well as completing set numbers of challenges.
