Negotiations for marriage Lucia opened in 1382 and were aimed at the alliance between Bernabo and Louis II of Anjou, the latter she was betrothed to . However she ended up marrying Edmund Holland, 4th Earl of Kent
. The marriage by proxy took place in December 1406 and the dowry provided 70,000 florins, on 24 January 1407 the wedding was celebrated at Southwark. The groom, however, died that same year and Lucia was to live in England for the rest of her life.
She died in April 1424 and was buried in London in the Augustinian Church.
