According to some of the liner notes in the booklet to their 2003 greatest hits CD, this song was written when Carrack and Schmit were supposedly going to make a band during the late eighties or early nineties. Carrack wrote that song for the planned group but it was never done. So Schmit used the song for the Eagles' reunion album.
