Differences From The Novel
- Lee and Lillian are not from the novel, as are many other characters and situations. Belinda is still unmarried in this novel, and marries Drew Simpson at the close of the novel.
- Missy and Marty the original female leads from the earlier novel series are also present in the novel whereas they are absent in this adaptation.
Anachronisms and other Goofs
- The coins Mrs. McQueen gave to Lillian at Belinda's office have an image of the Lincoln Memorial on them. The Lincoln Memorial did not appear on coins until 1959.
- In the scene when Belinda hands over the new baby to Peter, as he turns around, you can tell that the baby is a doll.
- When Lloyd McQueen thanks Belinda for helping his wife, he calls her Dr. "Evans," rather than Owens.
