Along LA 378 are Moss Bluff Elementary School, Moss Bluff Middle School, Sam Houston High School, and Moss Bluff Sheriff's Station. The western side of Hwy 378 in Moss Bluff is being developed into three new subdivisions, and is also the location of retreat center of the Diocese of Lake Charles.
