 and improvised music. Since its foundation in the 1975, the LMC has organised concerts, festivals, tours, workshops and publications in support of experimental music.

In 2002 the LMC were awarded a community radio licence to broadcast Resonance FM

 in central London. They also produce a magazine, which is also called Resonance, and a range of CDs.

The LMC is funded by donations, membership fees and grants. It is supported by Arts Council England

 and the The PRS Foundation for New Music.
The LMC ceased non-radio operations in 2009, with the organisation reorganising to become solely the operator of Resonance FM.
