Litzelsdorf was formerly a part of Hungery and therefore the former Hungarian name was “Lödös” .

History

The small town and whole Burgenland belonged to Hungary

’s politic of the government the town had to use the Hungaria name “Lödös”. After the first World Ware Burgenland belonged again to Austria after hard negotiations in the treaties of St. Germain and Trianon. Since 1921 Litzelsdorf belongs to the new formed Burgenland.

Politics

Peter Fassl is mayor in Litzelsdorf (Austrian People's Party = ÖVP) and Martin Gerbafczits is vice mayor (Social Democratic Party of Austria = SPÖ).
