Brown was married to actor Tom Nielsen, who had once played her boyfriend Floyd Parker on Guiding Light, from 1982–1985. In 1997 she married Brian Neary. Her son, James Anthony Nielsen, played her infant son on Guiding Light from 1984–1985 and is now the lead singer of Senses Fail
