Linton first appeared midway through Season Five when then manager, Monday Bandele tried to sign Linton's brother Curtis
to a Harchester contract. However Curtis told Monday that he would only sign if Monday found his brother a place in the team as well. When Monday did this Curtis revealed to both of them that he was not joining the team and simply did it to get Linton a job, Linton was annoyed as he was looking forward to playing alongside his brother.
Linton was then surprised to see his old Charlton Athletic
teammate Stevie Shaw playing alongside him. The two had obvious tension and often clashed with each other.It transpired that Stevie had slept with Linton's wife two years previous to Linton turning up at the club. Linton began a relationship with Nikki Peggs mainly because Stevie was interested in her, during their time together Linton revealled that his and Stevie's feud ran deeper than just the affair as Stevie had been instrumental in the death of Linton's young son. Linton then started to become more possessive towards Nikki and started shouting at her and telling her how to behave.
Nikki finally left Linton and returned to Stevie. However both Linton and Stevie were to die in the coach crash at the end of Season 5.
