History

Linnyshaw Colliery was the first of the Bridgewater Collieries' pits to have shafts exclusively sunk to access the deeper seams of the coalfield. It was sunk to 300 yards and accessed the Binn, Crombouke, Brassey and Seven Foot mines. ventilation
