Unfortunately, during this time, the U.S. arm of Virgin Records dropped several artists off their roster - Fra Lippo Lippi being one of them. Frustrated by the album's failure to capture the U.S. market, the band parted ways with Virgin Records in 1988.

However, later that year the band found unexpected success in another part of the world. The title track and "Beauty and Madness" became immensely popular in the Philippines
