Liga Intercalar

The Liga Intercalar or Reserves Championship is an alloy that serves mainly to rotate players less used or junior players and players returning from injury.

, and was played between clubs in AF Porto and AF Braga. - From the 2nd edition (2008/09 season) competition is being played on a national level, participating clubs in the North Zone and South Zone, which includes the Big 3 football Portuguese: Porto, Benfica and Sporting.
Regulations and Structure
The competition games are played every Wednesday, with afternoon games, much like the older Reserve Leagues. It is organized into two leagues with two groups, the North Zone and South Zone with a Winter and Spring phase. Both winner and runners-up from both phases of both groups compete in a regional play-off after which each regional champion clears up for the national final.This tournament also brings innovations. With regard to the score of the draws:
- Won = 3 points
- Drawn with goals = 2 points
- Goalless draw = 1 point
- Lost = 0 points
