with an international-oriented curriculum founded on 2005.The curriculum experts and advisers are diverse, as they are people of different heritage, many of whom came from Northern Illinois University and University of California at Berkeley, U.S.A. The main objective of the school is to become a catalyst for social change in the region and to the globalizing world. LDZ maintains an uncompromising commitment to providing a preeminent student-centered learning experience to its students and to participating actively in the global community it serves.

It offers early childhood education program, focusing on children’s emotional, social, intellectual and physical development, while providing the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Furthermore, the international-oriented learning program that the curriculum experts designed will help students develop learning skills at a pace that supports his or her individual potential, from curious nursery to exploring kindergarten one to confident kindergarten two. The school administration envisions expanding progressively its offerings from preschool to primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

The school strives to become an international institution of learning devoted to innovation and excellence, which is responsive to the ever-changing needs of the globalizing world. It is an equal opportunity, affirmative action educator, and employer.

Curriculum

The school curriculum of LDZ program are based upon the framework of The Creative Curriculum (The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, Fourth Edition, by Diane Trister Dodge, Laura J. Colker, and Cate Heroman) and Montessori Method. The program uses a variety of activities to achieve several broad goals, including: getting along well with others, becoming enthusiastic learners, and getting prepared for the expectations of the Department of Education that “all Grade 1 entrants [should] develop the necessary learning experiences to prepare them for academic work.” The school do this by creating purposeful and productive play experiences. We understand that children ages 3-5 are learning all the time and that they learn best by being active. The more active children are in their work, the more they learn and remember. Students learn through a variety of both student-selected and teacher-directed learning opportunities.

Campus

Liceo De Zamboanaga is committed to fostering an environment for students, staff, community, neighbors and visitors which is safe, conducive to the learning process, and free from unnecessary disruption. A safe school environment includes the school building and space grounds during school. A truly unique and outstanding feature of LDZ’s school site is its approach to personal space and surrounding environment. The location is environmentally suitable for learning.
The building construction incorporated many environmentally sensitive design features, like the high ceiling, to maintain comfortable room temperature. The room is also design not to use air conditioning to minimize unnecessary energy consumption, making the school building environmentally sound. The building is made of modern construction materials like concrete cement for the walls and metal sheets for roofing. Another important materials incorporated in the building construction is the local coconut lumber, a statement of the school administrator’s support to the utilization of indigenous material for building construction.
In conclusion, the school is located in a safe and child friendly environment. LDZ school campus is free from noise, unpleasant odors and dust, and sufficiently far from cockpits, dancing halls, bowling alleys, movie houses, markets, garbage dumps, funeral parlors, cemeteries, heavy traffic, jails, railroad yards, and manufacturing and industrial establishments.
