Liana Millu was a Jewish-Italian journalist, resistance fighter and Holocaust survivor, best known for her autobiography "Smoke over Birkenau".

Bio

Millu was raised by her grandparents, and has spent most of her life in Genoa.
She worked as a journalist for il Telegrafo and schoolteacher and joined the Italian partisans in 1943.
She was arrested in 1944 and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
After the war she returned to Italy became a book author.
Her work is included in the Italian anthology, Twentieth-Century Ligurian Writers.
