Club career

Li Kai began his professional football career after graduating from the Dalian Shide youth team in 2008. In his debut season Li Kai found himself with considerable playing time due to his versatility on the left and was one of the bright aspects in a very disappointing season which saw Dalian flirt with relegation. His progression would continue the following season as he found himself quickly established within the team.
