Leopold Primary School is a public, primary school located in Leopold, Australia. It is situated on the intersection where Kensington Road meets the Bellarine Hwy. Leopold Primary School accommodates over 800 students in from Prep to Grade 6. The school dates back to 1851 when the Leopold town was first established (previously known as Kensington).

In 2001, the school was found to be on unstable foundations and the occupants of the school were moved to portable classrooms while a new school was being developed on the site.
In 2010, the construction of a new wing began to support the growing number of students both enrolled and enrolling. This building, which is going to be the home of the lower-years classrooms is set to be completed and ready for use in 2011.

Leopold Primary School has been a long term supporter of the Sunsmart Program.

Curriculum

Leopold Primary School teaches students most elements of study through one teacher, who they will stay with until the end of the year; with the exception of subjects taught by specialist teachers. Subjects that are taught by specialist teachers include Information Technology, Art, LOTE

Students are also subjected to Religious Education provided the parent has consented.

CHIP (Child of Higher Intellectual Potential) classes are run, in which students who show a greater potential in academics than the norm are challenged more than what they might be in day-to-day classroom activities.

Once a year, certain year levels will be involved in a concert performance, where students will engage in corriographed dance. This production helps students develop confidence and public speaking skills.

In 2006, a program was developed where Grade 6 students were given the opportunity to spend more time engaging themselves in the specialist subject of their own choice.

At Leopold Primary School Physical Education is an extremely valuable part of the curriculum with all children receiving high quality education at least once a week. At least 80% of children then participate in own grade sporting lessons throughout the week. For Grades 5 and 6 it is compulsory to participate in inter-school sport, where there is a number of different sports that students can compete in against other teams of schools from around the region. PE is led by Andrew Hair and Ben Dew. Both are School Sport Coordinators as well running carnivals for children through Geelong and down the coast towards Portland.
